SportsPort Privacy Policy

We at DeskPort Technologies are concerned for your privacy and security. We treat your privacy as if it is our own. Your profile information is stored locally on your computer, not on our server or that of any third-party. The following describes our systems for transmission and any use of proprietary information.

1. Security of Your Data.
DeskPort Technologies, the developer of SportsPort, has taken steps to ensure that your confidential personal information and data are protected from unauthorized users.

All personal data is stored in a profile residing on YOUR computer. At no time does DeskPort Technologies access this profile; nor does any third-party. It is your responsibility to control unauthorized access to your computer.

2. Automatic Update Features.
SportsPort automatically communicates with DeskPort Technologies servers via the Internet to check for application updates, such as new category additions, bug fixes, patches, and/or new versions. For some updates, such as new executables, we may request your permission to complete the upgrade, as a specific action may be required on your part. Many simpler updates will be done automatically in the background. DeskPort does not access your profile or transmit any personally identifiable information during these upgrades.

3. Protection from Unauthorized Access.
As a SportsPort user proprietary information, such as names, account numbers, addresses, etc., are not maintained on our servers or those of any other third-parties. All data remains on your computer. We encourage you to exercise care in protecting your own computer from unauthorized access.

4. Collection and Use of Personal Information.
SportsPort will request a valid e-mail address prior to application download. We do this in order to communicate specific update requests and other information, and to comply with applicable federal law regarding opt-in for communications purposes.

We do not collect any other personally identifiable information nor do we allow others to do so. ("Personally identifiable information" is information such as your name, phone number, credit card information, address or email address-anything that could identify you personally.) In the course of using SportsPort there may be times when personally identifiable information is transmitted to one or more of our suppliers (such as during a purchase of an advertised product specifically requested by you). However, SportsPort will only transmit that data at your request and will not maintain that data on any SportsPort server.

Additionally, we never collect information on where SportsPort users go on the Web, what you do on the Web, or any other information that is not directly linked to usage of SportsPort. 

Should you choose to opt-in to the SportsPort ForumTM, we will maintain only the personally identifiable information you provide that is necessary to fulfill your awards for participation.

5. Sharing Personal Information with Third Parties.

• Transactions you choose to make, such as purchasing goods or services advertised within SportsPort, may require a credit card to hold or purchase the service.  SportsPort provides to a partner only the information necessary to process your transaction based on their requirements. In the event you purchase a service/product we will use the information you supply us only to complete the transaction.
• SportsPort may provide third parties with summaries of site traffic information that do not affect your anonymity, such as the number of visitors to a particular area of the site.
  

6. Applicability to Other Web sites.
The SportsPort application and SportsPort's Web site contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. You should be conscious of the privacy practices of any Web site that you visit or that collects personally identifiable information.

7. Changes to Privacy Policy.
Any changes to our Privacy Policy that may affect the way your proprietary information is used will be clearly posted on the DeskPort Web site. We will also notify you, in advance, by e-mail or via the application updater. You will always have a clearly defined and ongoing ability to opt-out of any such opportunity.
